CIP Programs

Community Improvement Plan incentives are available for downtown businesses to encourage more housing and façade improvement. Incentives are also available in designated industrial parks to build or improve commercial and industrial properties.

Grand Openings & Celebrations

The Office of Economic Development helps organize your Grand Opening or Business Anniversary by inviting the Mayor, Councillors, MP, MPP, Board of Trade and local media; arranging a ribbon cutting and photo opportunity; and posting to the Town’s online Events Calendar. For Special Events, we will advise Council and post online.

Please provide provide two weeks’ notice. Business Anniversaries are for 10, 20 or 25-years or in 5-year increments beyond 25 years.

Public Safety

The town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and the town of Innisfil are both served by the South Simcoe Police Service. The Service consists of 74 officers and 43 civilian staff and two police stations located in Innisfil and Bradford.

Transportation
BWG is ideally situated in rapidly-growing south Simcoe County, with quick access to the expanding communities of York Region and Greater Toronto. Transportation by road, rail and air are mere minutes away, complemented by an expanding local road and transit system: BWG Transit.

Road
BWG is located on Highway 400 and near Highway 404 providing a direct route into downtown Toronto and Northern Ontario. The Reagans Industrial park is located just east of the 400. The Highway 400 Employment lands is a 350 hectare properety that centered on County Road 88 and Hwy 400 interchange accommodating large industrial buildings and services for travelers.

Bradford West Gwillimbury is conveniently located within a 1 hour drive of 2 international airports:
Pearson International Airport is Canada’s largest and busiest airport servicing over 400 000 flights and 36 million passengers a year.

Lake Simcoe Regional Airport boasts modern facilities and the capabilities of serving small recreational aircraft up to larger corporate, regional and commercial aircraft. The airport has a Commercial Port-Of-Entry status allowing it to accommodate international passengers and cargo.

GO Transit’s Barrie Line stops at the Bradford GO Station with regular trains running during commuter hours and buses that run outside of those hours and on weekends.

Water

The Port of Toronto is one of Canada’s largest major inland ports and is strategically located on the doorstep of downtown Toronto.

The Bradford Board of Trade is a non-profit organization consisting of volunteers who sustain and promote local businesses by: providing services that help local businesses run their organizations more effectively, providing networking opportunities for local businesses, and advocating on behalf of local businesses to government.

Nottawasaga Futures

Nottawasaga Futures is a community economic development agency serving the South Simcoe Area. It is one of four community futures development corporations in Simcoe. Nottawasaga Futures supports the development of business plans and provides loans for start-ups and expansions. They are partnered with the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury providing on-going support with community projects. The Workforce Planning Board is one of 25 independent corporations in Ontario funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Bradford WORKS is a non-profit registered charity operated by CONTACT and functions as a one-stop community employment centre offering services and programs to job seekers and employers in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

The services they offer job seekers include: resources and information, job search strategies, individual one-on-one employment support, job matching and placement services.

The services they offer to employers seeking workers include: free job posting and pre-screening services, employer related information sessions, job matching, placement and retention support services, access to training and employment incentives as well as a state of the art workshop room available for your hiring or training needs.
