The Office of Economic Development is very pleased to congratulate Richard Moore, owner of Utilicon Engineered Precast Structures, on winning the prestigious 2023 Economic Development Award at the Bradford Board of Trade’s Awards of Excellence Gala. The gala was hosted at The Club at Bond Head on Saturday, October 28.

During the award presentation, Mayor James Leduc and Deputy Mayor Raj Sandhu spoke glowingly of Utilicon’s accomplishments, including a $600,000 building purchase, $300,000 in leasehold improvements and an allocation of $1.3 million towards new vehicles and fleet upgrades. They have added 11,000 additional square feet of manufacturing capacity and seen year-over-year revenues increase by 30 per cent.

Utilicon has increased its staff complement to accommodate new contracts in Montreal and Quebec City and they are now the sole supplier of their concrete products to Toronto Hydro. Located in BWG for 17 years, they have consistently proven to be generous neighbours to the business community, providing active support to shops hard-hit by the COVID pandemic with building materials for the Temporary Patio Program.

Congratulations Rich on an award well-deserved!
