Business Services

The Office of Economic Development works in partnership with senior levels of government and a number of external groups to support business and grow the local economy.

Simcoe County, Office of Economic Development

The Simcoe County Economic Development Office assists organizations with all of their business development and relocation needs. They also provide funding and resources to the municipal level economic development offices.

Bradford Board of Trade

The Bradford Board of Trade is a non-profit organization consisting of volunteers who sustain and promote local businesses by: providing services that help local businesses run their organizations more effectively, providing networking opportunities for local businesses, and advocating on behalf of local businesses to government.

Nottawasaga Futures

Nottawasaga Futures is a community economic development agency serving the South Simcoe Area. It is one of four community futures development corporations in Simcoe. Nottawasaga Futures supports the development of business plans and provides loans for start-ups and expansions. They are partnered with the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury providing on-going support with community projects. NT Temps is a subsidiary of Nottawsaga Futures providing temporary staffing solutions to all types of businesses in the South Simcoe Area. For more information visit their website.

Workforce Planning Board of York Region and Bradford West Gwillimbury

The Workforce Planning Board of York Region and Bradford West Gwillimbury is a not-for-profit organization that develops solutions to local labour market needs and issues. The Workforce Planning Board is one of 25 independent corporations in Ontario funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Their role is to respond to local needs in making job and skill training more accessible and effective.

South Simcoe Community Information Centre is a non-profit registered charity that provides community-focused services to the residents of South Simcoe and develops projects that meet community needs. These services include community information, employment services, housing support services and volunteer opportunities in South Simcoe.

Social Services

Complementing our robust network of Business Services is an extended network of Social Service providers, offering job training, employment fairs, business planning, security and settlement services.

Bradford WORKS

Bradford WORKS is a non-profit registered charity operated by CONTACT and functions as a one-stop community employment centre offering services and programs to job seekers and employers in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

The services they offer job seekers include: resources and information, job search strategies, individual one-on-one employment support, job matching and placement services.

The services they offer to employers seeking workers include: free job posting and pre-screening services, employer related information sessions, job matching, placement and retention support services, access to training and employment incentives as well as a state of the art workshop room available for your hiring or training needs.

Public Safety

The town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and the town of Innisfil are both served by the South Simcoe Police Service. The Service consists of 74 officers and 43 civilian staff and two police stations located in Innisfil and Bradford. They are committed to quality splicing for all members of the community while being accountable in everything they do.

Ontario Works Bradford West Gwillimbury Sub Office

Ontario Works is a program that provides financial and employment aid to those in financial need. The program is provided by the County of Simcoe Ontario Works Department and Bradford West Gwillimbury is the home of one of their satellite offices. In addition to financial assistance and benefits the County of Simcoe Ontario Works Department provides programs and services in: domiciliary care assistance, emergency shelters, funerals and burial cost assistance, housing retention, Ontario Disability Support Program and women and children’s crisis centres. Bradford Immigrant and Community Services (BICS)

The Bradford Immigrant and Community Services is a non-profit organization with the mandate to facilitate integration and to promote the interest of newcomers to Canada in the communities of Simcoe County and the York Region. They provide services in: English as a second language classes, information, referral and advocacy, translation and interpretation, form completions, commissioning of documents, citizenship and immigration as well as settlement assistance.

Transportation

BWG is ideally situated in rapidly-growing south Simcoe County, with quick access to the expanding communities of York Region and Greater Toronto. Transportation by road, rail and air are mere minutes away, complemented by an expanding local road and transit system: BWG Transit.

Road
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is conveniently located on Highway 400 and near Highway 404 providing a direct route into downtown Toronto as well as Northern Ontario. The Reagans Industrial park is located just east of the 400. There is also an approved 350 hectare employment area that is centered on the County Road 88 and Hwy 400 interchange that will accommodate large industrial buildings as well as services for travelers.

Air
Bradford West Gwillimbury is conveniently located within a 1 hour drive of 2 international airports:

Pearson International Airport is Canada’s largest and busiest airport serviceing over 400 000 flights and 36 million passengers a year. It handles passenger travel, courier and freight services.

Lake Simcoe Regional Airport boasts modern facilities and the capabilities of serving small recreational aircragt up to larger corporate, regional and commercial aircraft. The airport has a Commercial Port-Of-Entry status allowing it to accomodate international passengers and cargo.

Rail

GO Transit’s Barrie Line stops at the Bradford GO Station with regular trains running during commuter hours and buses that run outside of those hours and on weekends.

Businesses in the Artesian Industrial Park have access to freight services and may be able to build freight spurs on their properties at their own expense. Contact the BWG Office of Economic Development for more details.

Water
The Port of Toronto is one of Canada’s largest major inland ports and is strategically located on the doorstep of downtown Toronto.
