Full servicing of this corridor, including construction of Highway 400 interchanges, is anticipated by 2018.

Official Plan Amendment 15 (OPA 15), the Highway 400 Strategic Industrial Employment Area Secondary Plan, identifies three specific Ministerial Zoning Orders (MZOs) for this prestige business area, outlines permitted uses and provides direction on growth management, resource protection, infrastructure requirement and development phasing.

As part of the Town’s plans to expand business opportunities and further enhance access to major transportation corridors, BWG Council is actively pursuing the construction of a link between Highway 400 and Highway 404 with the Government of Ontario.

MZO 2 allows for the development of:

  • A manufacturing plant, warehousing and a distribution centre
  • A data centre, food processing facility, research facility and office space
  • A public training facility, auto service station and bank
  • Convenience store, day care and fitness centre
  • Industrial or agricultural machinery sales facility
  • Food store
  • Hotel
  • Retail Store

MZO 3 is reserved for agricultural uses, including:

  • Crop growing and livestock
  • Grain drying and product storage
